Charlotte, N.C., September 25, 2026 - Experro, a Gen AI powered eCommerce product discovery platform, has wrapped up two busy days at eCommerce Expo London 2026. From Booth #J54, the team ran live demos on real catalog data. Retailers kept making the same point: they're tired of paying premium prices for search that still doesn't understand their shoppers.
By the team's own measure, this year's show beat last year's. The conversations ran longer and the questions were sharper. More of the brands that stopped by already knew about Experro and visited the booth with a purpose in their mind.
Brands Arrived with Experro Already on Their List 🥳
A merchandising manager from a London fashion label walked up with Booth #J54 circled on her floor map. "Our trading director told me not to leave without seeing this," she said.
Many visitors had already compared Experro with their existing platform before walking to Experro's booth. They wanted to see how Experro would handle their catalog, their shoppers' experience, and their busiest trading weeks.
Interesting Conversations with Retailers at ExCel
One theme came up in almost every conversation. Brands using well-known enterprise search providers said they're paying top-tier prices for what is still keyword matching underneath. Many are actively planning a switch, and this came from B2B companies as well as B2C.
The head of eCommerce at an outdoor clothing retailer from the Midlands pulled up his own site on his phone. He typed "waterproof coat for a 3 year old". The results showed adult rain jackets and a two-person tent. The team ran the same search through Gen AI Search on a sample catalog, and the right coats came up first. "That's the exact search that costs us sales every winter," he said.
The B2B story was just as familiar. An operations director at a Yorkshire industrial supplies distributor explained that his buyers search by part number, size, and trade shorthand. Half the time, his current search returns nothing, and customers pick up the phone instead. The team showed him how B2B Product Discovery handles messy catalogs and repeat orders.
More Brands Want to Move Traffic Off Amazon and Onto Their Own Stores
Direct-to-consumer growth was another big thread. Several brands said they want to bring more customers from marketplaces to their own websites.
The co-founder of a British skincare brand put it simply. "Amazon brings us volume, but we don't own a single one of those customers." To make that shift work, she said, shopping on her own site has to feel at least as easy as shopping on Amazon. That's where Experro's AI-based personalization got her attention.
Conference Talks Focused on How Brands Actually Make Money
The team noticed a change on the stage as well. This year's sessions were more practical and built around real use cases. Speakers talked about what's driving revenue now, not what might work someday.
That matched what happened at the booth. Visitors asked for proof, so the team shared results from Experro customers such as Diamonds Direct, which saw a 42+% revenue lift.
From Startups to Enterprise, Everyone Wants Better Product Discovery
Visitors ranged from two-person startups to large multi-brand retailers. Almost all of them described the same search and discovery problems Experro has been hearing about all year.
The Experro Merchant Assistant drew a small crowd more than once. Merchandisers liked that it spots underperforming searches, shows what fixing them is worth, and drafts the rule for them to approve.
